The American Red Cross is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer (MGO) for the Longview/East TEXAS jurisdiction. Reporting to the Regional Director, Major Gifts, this position is responsible for managing a portfolio of major gift donors in all market segments from identification and qualification to cultivation and solicitation through stewardship. Assuring the cycle continues for a long term donor relationship including giving growth opportunities. The Major Gifts Officer will also work closely with chapter management and communications team to support local donor engagement in special events and programs. Track prospects and donor contacts in portfolio and submit information on a weekly basis via Sales Force. Participate in coordinated donor cultivation and stewardship, campaigns, events and activities. Assist in the development of proposals, case statements, and other materials that support development strategies and activities, using national materials whenever possible. This position will work closely with the Chapter leadership, board members, communications and service delivery staff to identify, cultivate and solicit new donor prospects. Requirements: Valid Driver's License, BA Degree/5 yrs fundraising exp. and a proven track record in the not-for-profit sector. Proficiency with Raiser's Edge preferred and Microsoft

You will be responsible for the preparation of grant proposals for the consideration of state, national and private foundations. Duties include tracking proposals, developing project budgets and generating grant reports. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Chief Development Officer and works closely with other key staff members.
